We are growers. Thank you for supporting the Virgie Giles Foundation. This packet of sage contains 1 ounce of sage grown organically at the Virgie Giles Victory Garden with mushroom compost. Each precious bundle of Salvia Apiana is harvested to order from the Virgie Giles Victory Garden in Vallejo, California. 


Each sale supports Virgie Giles Foundation’s Program’s: The Virgie Giles Victory Garden, the DACA Program, and Chin Up vocational training programs. This price also covers the wages of a gardener and the lease of the land. 


Currently, we are in the fall season of the Virgie Giles Vallejo Victory garden which means we are distributing tomatoes, pumpkins, radishes, and tomotios to our neighbors and .  We have started a new cycle of planting of leeks and daikon radishes, and sacred sage.


Bounty from the Virgie Giles Victory Garden. Sage or Salvia officinalis, it is native to the Mediterranean region. Sage’s botanical name comes from the Latin word “salvere,” meaning “to be saved.” Sage was thought to have stimulating properties and was brewed as a tonic in Medieval Europe and was thought to help with memory retention.
